Loire Valley Wine Dinner With Frédérick Willbrenninck
Tuesday 24th September, 7pm
Domaine Moulin Touchais is one of the greatest sweet wine estates of the world, as well as one of the oldest in the Loire Valley, having been founded in 1787. They are based in the revered Coteaux du Layon district of Anjou. Overseen by Jean-Marie Touchais, they house one of the greatest libraries of fine old wines anywhere in the world. Made from noble rotted (botrytis) Chenin Blanc grapes these wines age majestically, developing amazing bottle aged aromas and flavours whilst maintaining remarkable levels of freshness and vitality.
Frédérick Willbrenninck of Moulin Touchais will host a very special evening where we will taste through a full range of Loire Valley wines including Muscadet, Sancerre, Chinon, and Vouvray before finishing with two examples of old library releases of Moulin Touchais. The wines will be matched with a 3 course dinner – this promises to be one of the finest winemaker dinners of the year.
The menu for the evening will be:
Burrata with kale pesto, marinated heritage tomatoes and melba toast
Roasted guinea-fowl breast with braised leg croquette, roasted carrots, tenderstem broccoli and mushroom sauce
White chocolate cheesecake with honey and pistachio ice cream and sour cherry compote
£79 per person, limited to just 40 guests.
